St. Francis Pet
Hospital is a Veterinary Care Facility for
companion animals. We are committed to delivering high quality service
and veterinary care. We strive to keep on top of new techniques and
methods in surgery, medicine and diagnostics. Our services include, but
are not limited to:
Preventative
Medicine Programs
Vaccinations, heartworm
prevention, internal parasite control,
flea and tick control, dental care and cleaning, nutritional
consultations, routine physical examinations and senior health
programs.
Medical
Examinations
Pets are just like part of
the family. A yearly physical examination is
important just like people. This is usually done in conjunction with
vaccinations that are required for the year. Senior pets (dogs above 7
years old and cats 8 years) should have
semi-annual examinations to ensure there are no early signs of disease
or illness.
Surgery
Including spays, castrations,
dentals, mass removals and selective
surgeries.
In
House Laboratory Testing
(for most blood tests) If we are not equipped for a
particular test the sample will be sent to
the reconized laboratory. Results usually are faxed back to us within
24 hours. In house testing takes between 2 minutes and 20 minutes for
results.
Dental
Care
We are equipped to ultrasonically clean your pets teeth as well as
treat some common dental problems. We offer toothpaste and toothbrushes
and encourage brushing your pets teeth once a week. Also we offer
preventative care.
Blood
Pressure Monitoring
Doppler
technology permits us to monitor your pets blood pressure during
surgery. Blood pressure monitoring is also critical in the assessment
of therapy adn progress of various disease conditions such as kidney
disease, thyroid disease and heart disease.
Patient
Records
All patients who are registered in
the clinic have their own
medical record where all examinations, procedures and therapies are
recorded.
Pharmacy
We have an extensive drug
inventory. Most medications can be
conveniently dispensed at the time of a consultation.
Other Services
Pet Food Bank
Pet
food avaliable to low income
house-holds. Donations welcome always!
Pet Food
To meet your pet's
nutritional needs we carry two, well reconized food
lines- Hill's prescription diets and Purina Veterinary Diets. These
diets are of excellent quality and provide complete and balanced
nutrition for your pet.
If your companion animal has a special nutritional requirement our
doctor and staff will recommend an appropriate diet to support the
therapy of various illnesses, such as renal disease, liver disease,
gastrointestinal disease, obesity, oral health care, urinary tract
disease and more.
Microchip Identification
Through
the simple process of implanting a rice grain sized microchip under the
skin, your pet will be identified by a unique number revealed by a
scanner. All animal shelters and veterinary clinics should be equipped
with a microchip scanner. The whole process is safe, simple and
effective.
We use microchips that
are reconized throughout North
America. If you and your pet are going further afield we also have
microchips that are identified internationally. Ask us for more details
when you and your pet come for a visit.
Re-Home
We offer to clients if
there is no other option to re-home a pet
if required. If a pet is re-homed through us they will have
vaccinations up to date and will be spayed/neutered. Keep coming back
to see on our website if any pets are up for adoption on our adoption
page.
